Consignment
Consigning your collection and valuables to one of our auctions is easy. Upon consignment, our experts will determine an appropriate estimated value, which we will use to offer your collection and valuables for auction. This estimated value is only the starting price, as popular and sought-after items achieve significantly higher results at auction.
Upon consignment, you will receive a detailed list from us of the estimated value and the items consigned. This also guarantees that your goods are insured with us for the stated value. They remain your property until the time of the auction. Your lots will then be described by our experts and photographed for both the catalogue and our online presentation on our own website and on international auction platforms.
These services, as well as packaging, storage and shipping in the event of a successful auction, are fully covered by our commission rate. This is usually 25% of the consignment value and is only charged if and when a sale is made. You will not incur any further costs. We also conclude an auction contract with you that contains all the terms and conditions. For larger and regular consignments, a variable, lower commission rate is possible. In certain cases, an advance payment on the expected hammer price may be paid for large consignments.
Before the catalogue is printed, you receive a detailed list of your consignment, either by email or by post. If you have any questions or do not agree with the price estimate for individual lots, please contact us. We will endeavour to take your wishes into account. If no agreement can be reached, you have the option of withdrawing your consignment or parts thereof from the auction at any time. Once the catalogue has been produced, we will have to charge a processing fee; prior to this, our service remains free of charge.
After the auction, you will receive a preliminary statement of the proceeds achieved. The final statement will be issued once the post-auction sale of lots not sold at auction has been completed, usually 14 days after the end of the auction. After the final statement, you will receive your proceeds paid into the account you have specified no later than two months after the date of the final statement. Unfortunately, cash payments are not possible due to money laundering legislation.
We will be happy to answer any further questions you may have. Please also refer to the additional information on this website, such as the Auction Conditions.
